Our Business committee works to a startup/investment team that connects students with diverse backgrounds with researchers to develop an idea/product/startup in the alternative protein space.
The Berkeley Alt. Protein Project strives to build a healthy, sustainable, and just food system by creating a vibrant and robust community for alternative protein research and innovation at UC Berkeley. The organisation aims to provide members with a community where they can explore the field of alternative protein and other opportunities associated with plant-based, cultivated, and fermentation-derived meat, eggs, and dairy to plan future careers that will allow them to transform the future of food. At its best, the Berkeley Alt. Protein Project group acts as a miniature think tank for a burgeoning field, catapulting its members to the forefront of the alternative protein movement.
We imagine a future where the most affordable and delicious food products are also good for our bodies and the environment. To push that idea,we are serving as the first student-run alternative protein focused organization at Berkeley. We hope to be the think tank and resource center that connects people across different disciplines around campus and to spread the idea of personal sustainability.

Serving as a think tank and resource hub, our Education committee works to educate students around campus about the alternative protein space by hosting and creating a student-run class at Berkeley (DeCal) called “The Future of Food.”
Our Outreach committee connects people, including students, professors, researchers, business developers, and professionals across a diverse spectrum of disciplines to build connections and explore opportunities. We host different events throughout the semester to engage with the campus community.
